Bleach London Hair Crayon Big Pink

It's no secret that I want some pink back in my hair, so this was a total impulse buy in Boots. I've never used a pencil/chalk before I always opt for the hair dye! It was only £4 so I picked it up and this is what happened.

It's meant to be a super easy process, you literally just colour your hair in. It's only semi permanent and lasts between 1 and 4 washes.
In the pack you get the pencil and a pencil sharpener.

The hardest part of this was trying to cover all the hair. I found I had to go over areas a few times so I didn't have any blonde showing through. The small section I did took a good 15 mins and is quiet messy.

Overall I'm not actually very impressed with this product at all. It's difficult to use, messy and you use loads getting a decent colour!
I straightened my hair only to find the ends have already faded and I'm pretty sure I'm going to wake up tomorrow to find it on my pillow case too.
I suppose it's okay once you've styled your hair for a night out but I wouldn't recommend this for a longer use kinda thing, which is a shame because initially I really liked the colour!
I think in future I will just stick to the semi permanent dyes and give the pencils/chalks a miss.
Have you had any luck with hair chalks?
Until next time,

  1. It seems a poor design and not easy to use :-(

  2. Oh it's a pity you are not that impressed with it but really good to know - love an honest review

  3. I tried the body shop hair chalk which is like a pad so the surface area is bigger making it easier and quicker to use. It still gets everywhere though (and all over your pillow!!) and doesn't last without hairspray! I think I'll give this one a miss. Thanks for the heads up!

  4. Ahh I wondered how these were. I'm a fan of Bleach's hair mask which I've just done a review for - I did consider buying a crayon at that time! Looks messy and not good if you use straighteners, so thanks for this. I don't think it'd work well on my brown hair anyway, but at least it was only 4 quid x

    1. I'd deffo give the crayon a miss! So much hassle! I've got the actual semi perm color in my hair atm and it's been far more successful! Becca x
