My Summer Nail Picks!

Believe it or not, summer is here. Kinda. The few nice days we have had so far have inspired me to wear nail varnish colours I usually wouldn't in the colder months. I'm a total nail varnish addict and have hundreds so this has been super hard but I thought I'd share my top picks for summer!

I think you'll find something for everyone in this list! From gorgeous purples to bright mints, your fingers and toes will be screaming summer even if the weather doesn't totally agree!

Models Own Hypergel in Purple Glare

Now if I'm honest I totally adore the Models Own Hypergel's and this won't be the only one making my list. They are long lasting, quick drying and come in utterly stunning colours.
I picked this purple because how gorgeous is this colour?! Seriously imagine this against a sandy beach background! This is a gorgeous purple to go for as it's a brighter than the traditional Cadbury purple but not so bright your going to look like a ghost if you haven't got a tan yet.

Rimmel 60 Second Rita Ora in Loose your Lingerie

This proper girly pastel pink is utterly gorgeous. It's a perfect way of nodding towards the nude trend but keeping your individuality! It's perfect for laying glitter on top of and because it's from the 60 second range, your good to go without having to wait for 10 mins in case you smudge a nail!
Barry M Aquarium Nail Paint in Pacific

Why just act like a Mermaid when you can paint your nails like one? How cool is this gorgeous metallic blue? It shines different shades of blue, green, gold and purple! I think this is a perfect colour when your relaxing on the beach in your Bikini, plus it'll give you happy memories of the seaside when your stuck in the office. Win!

Models Own Hypergel in Blue Glint

I did warn you there'd be more than one of these Hypergel's and if you follow me on Twitter you'll know I rave about this colour more than I should.
It's such a bright vibrant blue and because it's Models Own Hypergel it glides on, leaves you with gorgeous talons and lasts alot longer than traditional nail varnishes. I'm starting to get to the bottom of the bottle of mine, which is something I very rarely do!
Blue summer sky's anyone!?

Rimmel 60 Seconds in District-ly Come Dancing

Honestly this is the most gorgeous shade of Turquoise ever. It's not far off Tiffany Blue and because I have insane love for Tiffany as soon as I saw this little beauty I knew I had to have it.
I love wearing this in the summer layered with glitter. It's a super fun and easy shade to wear!

I had to share one more varnish with you and it's not a colour. It is my be all and end all of Top Coats. Forget your £15 a pop top coat, this stuff is the bee's knee's!

Your search for the perfect top coat is over and you need to look no further. This top coat from Revlon is AMAZING.
It is from their collection called Colorstay Gel Envy, which is nail varnishes that act like a gel without the hassle of lamps and removal. I decided to try mine out with my usual nail varnish and I'm so pleased I did.
They last longer, look glossier and don't chip near as much! This has replaced my OPI, Nails Inc & other top nail varnish brands top coats and I haven't looked back. Did I mention it's only £6.99?

What are your fave nail varnishes for summer?

Until next time,

  1. I love the selection that you have especially the models own hypergel that looks great.

  2. I like the look of that Barry M nail polish. They make some great colors x

  3. Love the colours, especially the Barry M! Think I may have to go shopping!

  4. Great post - I'm sold - heading out tomorrow to pick up that top coat, a shade or two of hydra gel and probably a few of those colours too - thanks for sharing x

  5. Love all these colors :) New on my French blog: I straighten my hair and I eat Fraises Tagada

  6. Blue hues seem to be big this summer from what I have read however I only have one and it's a pretty cheap polish - perhaps I'll pick up one or two nicer ones in town tomorrow! That top coat sounds amazing - have you tried Seche Vite? I just bought some (for £9 T_T) so I'd be interested to hear how you think they compare x
