I spent my Sunday relaxing for the first time in ages! No looking at houses, no clearing the current house, nothing! So on this rare occasion we decided to pop down to Portsmouth and do some retail therapy at Gunwharf Quays.
As it was Sunday it was of course, packed but it wasn't as bad as it could have been! Our main aim for the trip was to get the hubby some new shoes and thankfully we managed that but we also ended up with a few bits we weren't planning on and a lunch out, looking over the sea!
I got myself a gorgeous little v neck top from Ralph Lauren and hubby face also brought himself a new top too (watch out for the blog post!). We also ended up in Calvin Klein buying underwear too.
By about 2pm we were utterly starving so decided to stop for lunch. We stumbled across a restaurant called Coast to Coast, an American restaurant that we'd both never tried before so decided to give it a shot!
We found a table outside but in the shade were we could people watch while we waited and was overlooking the sea. The staff were super friendly and within moments of us sitting down we had a waitress at our table taking our starter and drinks orders. We decided to share a salted pretzel starter and were both delighted with what we received a mere 10 minutes after ordering.
We then ordered our mains after a lot of decision making! I went with beer battered fish sandwich with straw chips and Stew went for Roadside Sliders with straw chips.
This is where the experience let us down a bit, we waited about 40 mins from our started to our main. People who had come in after us had ordered, eaten and left while we were still sitting there! At around the half our mark we asked our waitress if she could double check our order hadn't been forgotten and she did. About 10 mins later our food was sorted.
It had probably been left on the side and no one was informed it was ready, none of it was particuarly hot and my sandwich bun was stale but we were so hungry at this point we ate it anyway and to be fair, it was really nice.
Once we were done we got the bill and were told due to the extremely long wait, they had added a discount to our meal of over £5, which we thought was really nice as it was a really long wait and the food wasn't as great as we were expecting. You even get jelly beans with your receipt, which I thought was a really nice touch!
All in all I had an awesome Sunday doing some serious retail shopping! I even got to try out the new Michael Kors Citrus perfume, which by the way was gorgeous! There is a MK store opening there soon, which means my bank account might take a bit of a beating!
What did you do this weekend?
Until next time,
