OPI Color Paints

I'm a bit of a sucker for nail varnishes. So when I saw these bad boys I knew I needed them in my life. I've never seen nail varnishes that are blend-able before, so on today's post I show you the magic!

Now I haven't found much about these online. There's a lot about them coming out soon but not many actual reviews.

These 'color paints' aren't like your traditional nail varnishes. In the pack you get a silver and 5 colors, the silver is your base coat and the 5 colors are the blendable polishes. I love the color selection, all of them are awesome shades and look really good together!
I should mention now, I'm terrible at nail art. I love having a go but they always end up a hot mess..

You start off with a silver coat, now I don't think this would matter what silver it was. It looks like pretty much every other silver polish I own but I didn't let that put me off!

Next you top the silver with the selection of colors! In the pack you get;

Primarily Yellow
Chromatic Orange
Pen & Pink
Purple Perspective
Turquoise Aesthetic

Once you add the paints onto the silver base they really come to life. They look best with two coats I've found but they are of course totally buildable!
I did try to blend these but found my lack of nail art skills got in the way. I found it really hard to use the brushes in the bottles to get mine to do anything! I even tried marbling them with a nail art dotting tool but the colours dried so quickly I just upset the bottom coat.

On a downside I found they do not last! I had mine on for about two hours (not even doing much) and I chipped two of them. I found after two days I had to complete taken them off and repaint. This was even using two coats of OPI's top coat.

With all this said, I do think these could be super fun. Your imagination and skills are the only things to stop you creating amazing looks and I will try these again but I'm not convinced that these work much differently to watering down some other nail varnishes with remover and adding them to a silver polish.

What do you think? Will you be buying these?

Until next time,

  1. These look like such cool colours, and it's such a cool idea! It sucks that they don't last that long though - especially OPI nail polishes! xo
