Get Out Of Your Blogging Rut

We all have those days we just can't seem to find a single thing we want to blog about. You sit there new post page open and the words just don't seem to come together, so here's some awesome ideas to get your blog post scheduler full again!

Stuck In A Blogging Rut
Don't worry this isn't going to be you usual 'write about an experience' kinda post. I know from experience when the inspiration is taking a back seat, it's really hard to think of experiences you want to write about!

If that is the kinda thing your looking for however, I do have some blog post suggestions in a previous post - 30 Blog Post Ideas

You know you need to write something but just what? I find it's time like these I go back to basics and start again.

Why did you start blogging?

Going back to where it all began can really help! If you were inspired by someone else's blog, why not pop back over and have a re-read?
I started blogging because of my love for Messy Carla - now Droogette.com blog. I loved reading about all the places she'd been too and I loved that it included, fashion, beauty and lifestyle. I kept thinking having a blog would be such a lovely thing to look back on in years to come and would be a brilliant way to be creative.

Visit some of your favourite blogs

I don't mean go to your fave blog and copy them. I mean go to your fave blogs and take inspiration. What post did you like and why? Could you do a twist on it? A different angle?

Go old school

There seems to be less and less wish list posts around these days but when your stuck in a rut don't be afraid to revert back to the good ole days of wish lists and favourites!
A personal fave of mine is doing blog features and Pinterest boards.

Don't put yourself up against other people

Oh God, blah blah's blogs amazing. Mines so rubbish. Sound familiar?
Stop putting yourself up against bigger bloggers. Don't forget they had to start somewhere too. It's easy to get caught up in the numbers game and loose sight of how far you've come. Remember before you hit publish on your first blog post? Now look at where you are.

Take a break if you need too

If it's all getting too much and you just don't know where to begin. Take a break. The world won't end and you'll feel less stressed and much better for it. It's not a sign of defeat, everyone needs to take a step back now and then!

How do you get over being stuck in a blogging rut?

Until next time,
Becca
