I've never been to a proper casino before so when the opportunity arose that I got the chance to go, I did just that!
I'm used to the arcades by the seaside, give me a quid and you'll find me on the 2p machine aiming to win as much crap as possible, so when I had to chance to go to a proper casino, I wasn't really sure what to expect.
Although I'm a Londoner and have been for the last 26 years I hate travelling into London! So in the end decided to drive and park in China town which was a 3 minute walk from the Hippodrome.
There was a small que at the door and it was a no ID, no entry kinda place with a quick bag search.
Upon entering we were greeted by girls in gorgeous red sequin maxi dresses and then wham, a room full of people, noise and gambling!
We ended up spending the majority of our evening in Lola's Underground casino. There's a cage with dancers in the center, lots of roulette tables, blackjack tables and various other games. I went with a set amount of money in my mind and stuck to it.
As I didn't know how to play anything really, I decided to go to on the roulette tables and actually got rather lucky! It was a minimum of a £2 bet, so I cashed in and had a go! I ended up winning around £30 wahoo!
Would I go again? Maybe. It's not my kinda thing. I got a bit bored after two hours and spent most of the evening sitting at the bar people watching, which was fascinating. People really do change when they are gambling!
I'm pleased I've been though, it's an experience to say the least!
Have you ever been to a casino?
Until next time,
