Caketoppers Review

Everyone loves cake, don't they? I'm a sucker for a good cake and there is nothing I love more than a gorgeous cake with a good side of personalisation and that is exactly what you get from Caketoppers!

I've tried other postal cake services before and while they've been nice, any excuse to try something a little bit special through the post always goes down well with me.
Caketoppers got in touch and asked if I'd like to review their personalised cupcakes. I received a gorgeous chocolate sponge with chocolate icing and a vanilla sponge with plain icing, they even asked what images I'd like on each cake.

First off, they arrived so well wrapped. In a sturdy letterbox sized box surrounded by bubble wrap, so there wasn't even a dent on my lush cakes inside. Second I was super impressed by the quality of the images. They are perfect, high colour and best of all not pixalated at all. Not only that but they would seriously make someone's day if you opened a box to find these inside!

I'll start with the chocolate cake. I had a picture from some flowers I wrote a post about a while ago - Prestige Flowers. I was so happy with the result; It looked gorgeous!

The chocolate cake itself was utterly divine. Gorgeous chocolate flavour, moist sponge and a very generous amount of topping. The chocolate flavour comes in a silver case and they are made with high quality ingredients including free range eggs!

This was honestly one of the nicest chocolate sponge cakes I've had in a long while. While it was a tad sickly I happily devoured the whole thing without much trouble!

The other cake was the vanilla one. Now, you'd be totally wrong in thinking it's a 'plain' sponge. I adore vanilla flavoured things and this really is gorgeous.

Again it has a super moist sponge, covered with a super generous layer of icing and that vanilla flavour is crazy good. It's sweet without being over the top and the icing just finishes the whole cake off.

I would honestly recommend these cakes 100% to anyone! They are utterly gorgeous and the quality is second to none.

  5. These are so yum, I should know ;) I didn't get to taste the vanilla, I let my fiancé eat that one, but the chocolate was divine. One of the nicest chocolate cupcakes I've ever tasted. I'll definitely be ordering more. x www.aimeeraindropwrites.co.uk x
