I've never really worn under eye concealer, I've never had an issue with under eye bags until having a baby that is. Sleepness nights and chasing around after a tiny human have resulted in me needing to invest in a concealer, so when I read some good reviews of this Maybelline Eraser Eye one I thought I'd give it a go!
I've used under eye concealer a few times in my life, mainly in my younger days after a heavy night out but now I'm relying on it just so people don't ask if I'm tired! I've never really had to worry about finding one that works for me or about one that actually lasts all day.
While researching online I found that the Eraser Eye had some fab reviews with beauty addicts and bloggers alike saying it was brilliant for the price, so I headed down to Superdrug and picked up one.
I hate starting on a negative but I feel it's a big part of this concealer 'range', it comes in two shades. Two shades, I mean really? Being rather pale I opted for the shade 'light' which if I'm honest is a tad more orange than I'd expect but it does seem to blend out well.
Another negative for me is the applicator. I don't know why I hate it so much but it's an awkward shape which makes getting into the corner of my eye hard, you can't wash it and the whole twisting the top to get product out annoys me.
Another thing that gets my goat is the fact I don't like the idea of product that's been sitting there 24 hours going on my face the next day or that I'm meant to blend it in using the applicator. I put this on top of my foundation, I really don't want a build up of old concealer and foundation on it.
I've taken to dabbing it onto my eye area and then blending it in with my old faithful Beauty Blender. I find it not only enables me to get right into the corner of my eyes but helps me blend it better.
I do love the product itself though! Apart from being slightly too orange for my skin tone, it seems to blend out well and actually does what it says on the tin. It covers up my under eyes well and lasts until I take it off at night. It's a lovely consistency and it's super easy to blend out.
This photo was taken at around 2pm, so 6 hours after I applied it (with no touch ups).
Overall despite my packaging peeves, I like the product. It doesn't fall into creases or need constant re-applying and once blended it's a good match. Will I buy it again? Probably not. I just can't get my head around the packaging so once I've used it, I'll probably be on the hunt for a different one.
What concealer do you use? Have you tried the Eraser Eye?
Until next time,
